Ventilation system design for dam corridors in Baihetan hydropower station
Pan Xiaohong, Chen Jun, Xu Kuaidong
The dam of Baihetan hydropower station is 289.0 m high and is an elliptical linear concrete hyperbolic arch dam. The resistance body drainage tunnels on both sides of the dam are used as the air inlet passage and the ventilation shafts on the left and right banks are used as the air exhaust passage. The dam corridor ventilation system adopts a combination of natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation system, and different ventilation strategies are adopted according to different operating conditions. This ventilation system is stable, reliable and flexible, which can significantly improve the air quality in the dam corridor and provide references for other similar engineering ventilation system designs.
